ABOUT THE EVENT:
In commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (IDEVAW) on November 25, PAVE ran an online campaign and two webinars. There were a series of online posts with the hashtag #whenlovehurts on our Instagram and Facebook page in the month of November. The maximum number that we have reached out to was 297 people for one of our online posts.
MESSAGE BOARD OF SUPPORT
We also launched a website where the public can leave a note of encouragement on our Message Board of Support. We hope to recognize and celebrate the strength and courage of survivors of violence, and appreciate the determination and transformation of those who have taken responsibility to end their use of violence through the Message Board of Support on our website. The website also contains links to resources about self-care so that the public can access them to learn different ways of looking after their well-being. 64 people from the pubic had left encouraging messages on the Message Board.
WEBINAR: COURAGE TO CHANGE ON 25 NOV 2020
This was a collaboration between PAVE and Centre for Fathering and a live webinar that was open to the public. We invited 2 men who have been through our programme to have a conversation with Mr Parcsen about their use of violence, how it has impacted them, their wives and children and their courage to change. Sara from PAVE was also interviewed by Mr Parcsen. He shared the work that we do, with an emphasis on how violence is a choice that the persons who abuse have to take responsibility for. The webinar attracted 1.4k views and the responses to the webinar were positive.
WEBINAR ON THE INTEGRATED MODEL ON 26 NOV 2020
PAVE organized a webinar on The Integration of Family Violence and Child Protection: A Community Based Response. We presented on our Integrated Model and shared 3 case studies to exemplify how the integrated model works in co-occurrence cases. A total of 49 professionals (excluding PAVE staff) attended the webinar. They are from FJC, SPF, hospitals, APS, SSO, CPS, LAB, AIC and other partners whom we have worked closely with in our work with families.
